Thank you letter to Supervisor Horvath re ending Ocean Ave projects

Dear Supervisor Horvath.

The Board of Directors of the North of Montana Association (NOMA) thanks you for listening to our residents and terminating the controversial mental health housing facilities proposed for Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica.

Your willingness to listen to your constituents is greatly appreciated.

As you noted in your statement, residents learned about the details and timing of these facilities far too late in the process and therefore never had the necessary input and buy-in which may have led to a more successful outcome.

We believe it is critical to move the mentally ill unhoused off our streets and into high-quality care, and look forward to working with your office and Santa Monica in the future.

In that light, we have already expressed our support of Agenda Item 16 F (on tonight's Santa Monica City Council agenda) and we look forward to your continued communication and collaboration with every neighborhood in our City.
