Metro wants to listen

Metro wants to listen

Join the conversation and voice your opinions and concerns about all things Metro at a public listening session via Zoom on Thur. Oct 30th at 6PM.

Santa Monica is struggling to cope with the nightly "end-of-line" discharge of dozens of homeless individuals who make the train their home during the day. Additionally, hear if Metro has made any progress on fare jumping, which is rampant and exacerbated by no ticket check on exit.

Community Listening Sessions

Metro invites you to participate in an upcoming Community Listening Session focused on improving safety across the transit system. This is an opportunity for riders, community members, and partners to share their perspectives on recent station safety enhancements, pilot programs, and future priorities for the system.

The Listening Session is hosted by Metro’s Public Safety Advisory Committee (PSAC), a group of community leaders and stakeholders who work with Metro to shape policies and initiatives that make the transit system safer and more welcoming for everyone. PSAC plays a key role in ensuring that community input informs the development and implementation of Metro’s Department of Public Safety.

The virtual session will offer a respectful, structured environment where participants can hear about recent safety improvements and share their own ideas and concerns directly with Metro staff and PSAC members. Spanish interpretation and other language assistance will be available, and all participants are encouraged to bring their perspectives to the discussion.

If you are unable to attend the live session, you can still participate by visiting Metro’s Virtual Meeting Room (VMR), our online platform where you can review materials, watch videos, and share feedback at your convenience between October 23 and November 20.
