Dec 4 NOMA meeting: a discussion on homelessness with State, County, City officials

At the Dec. 4th NOMA meeting, we will be focusing on the status of the Behavioral Health Bridge Housing projects on Ocean Avenue (which are no longer moving forward), the lessons learned from that process, and how the City, County, and State plan, fund, and coordinate interim housing and behavioral health services in Santa Monica.

Who:  An informational session with State, County and City Officials hosted by NOMA.

What:  A high-level view of how interim housing and behavioral health services fit into Santa Monica’s Homelessness Strategic Plan. The session will outline the roles of the State, County, and City, the types of interim housing programs that exist, and how they are generally funded and developed.

Presenters will also address the status of the Ocean Avenue Behavioral Health Bridge Housing projects — which are not moving forward — lessons learned, and potential next steps.

Please submit your questions  in advance  and we will ask as many as possible to the presenters. Submit your questions here.

When:  Thursday, December 4th, 2025 at 7pm to 8:30pm PST via Zoom

Where:  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81526517066

How: The State, County and City will each make a presentation for about 5 to 7 minutes to give a high level overview regarding their role in establishing interim housing in Santa Monica, as well as answer three main questions:

  1. What is the status of the Ocean Ave properties now that the projects are not moving forward? Are these projects moving somewhere else in Santa Monica
  2. What lessons have been identified so far from this process, and how might they inform future planning and coordination?
  3. How will the State, County, and City continue communicating and working together on Santa Monica projects, in alignment with the City’s adopted policies and goals and Council Item 16.F ?

NOMA will ask as many questions that were submitted ahead of time as possible. Please submit your questions here.

We hope to see you on Thursday, December 4th, 2025 from 7pm to 8:30pm PST on Zoom (zoom link above)!
